Manifesting Destiny

We're of the belief that we create much of our own destiny. I think you get back what you put out. Maybe its quantum physics. Maybe its simply the power of "having a goal". Who knows how it works, but I do believe that there is something to the "law of attraction" and I try to practice it - if for nothing else than to keep me focused, proactive, and growing. Because, sister, if you're not growing, you're dying. I believe in the power of positive thought and infinite possibility. That's just my outlook. It keeps me going.

Yes, I'm talking about..... (Cue Oprah yell) "THE SECRET!!!!!!" - or something like it.

With that in mind, meet our new destiny:

This house just came on the market, across the street from us. It will be ours. No, we don't have the money for it. YET. But we will.

We'll have dinners here, enjoying the view....

We currently enjoy a view just like this, and would hate to give it up when we move.

If its chilly out, or we're feeling fancy, we could dine right here.

After cooking dinner in this AMAZING kitchen! (that's my dream oven, yes it is.)

Granite countertops? C'mon, that's just overkill, right?!?!

The master bedroom will suit us just fine.

And so will the claw foot tub. But I think my favorite part is.....

The outdoor shower! Wait, let me get a little closer for you....

Its actually OUTSIDE! That's hot like wow.

This patio is just off the master bedroom. Hunter and I have dreamt of having palm frond fans since Amsterdam 6 years ago.

And the nice big yard beyond is just perfect for Paco to romp on.

On the reals, it's got a little bit of everything we've always wanted in a home, in the perfect location. So, the plan now is to make it ours. My first step is putting it on here - announcing my intention to the Universe. You hear me out there, Universe? This is the one! Now, we just have to come up with the money. Any suggestions?

This is just the motivation I need to pull me out of the PWD. I feel so much clearer now. I have love. I have a goal. I have faith. And I have unlimited potential. What could be better?

Have you used positive visualization to keep you focused on a goal?

Wow. That house is absolutely amazing!

And yes, there is something to be said for the power of positive thinking. I'm a glass half empty kind of girl for the most part and we've unfortunately suffered some bad things as of late. Hopefully I can take a cue from you and turn some things around.

That house is gorgeous! I'm trying to figure out the garage. Is it completely detached with a patio on the top, or is there a way to get into the house from inside the garage.

That bathroom is amazing. What happens when it rains though, with the outdoor shower? What about bugs? Of course I am in the South where the palmetto bugs and thundershowers abound...

Seriously though, I love everything about that house. I'm gulping just thinking about the price...but it IS a down market!

WOW. You SOOOOO inspire me w/your humor, your sass, your boundless creativy, and now-with your call to the universe to manifest what you've focused on!! That house is ridiculously "y'all"...definitely has your name written all over it! (if the asking price is above what you're able to finance , depending on the listing type, you may be able to just approach the owner directly & see if they'd entertain a lease option or lease purchase, w/a slightly attractive incentive built in...(not to undermine the efforts of the agent at all...just a thought to try to figure a creative way to get you IN to the house. The asking price has a 5% commission built in...maybe there's a way to cut that down and prove a win for all parties involved). Anyhoo, you're a creative thinker, so I'm sure if there's a way, you'll find it!
I really just wanted to thank you for the tons of INSPIRATION you've provided me in the short time since I happened upon your blog (about a week!). I've found myself scrambling to put on a completely snazzy affair , after learning that the wedding my parents were planning for me had the financial support WITHDRAWN as a result of my wanting to have a vegan & eco-friendly wedding. (My father is a very "forward thinker", as you can tell.) Rather than stay in a completely deflated space, I found santuary on the net, & have become inspired through people's CREATIVE ways of pulling off a fantastic (& not life-savings draining) event! I'm launching a website to help other brides in my position as well (will I ever get any sleep??), and again, thank you for the inspiration I draw from your fantastic approach to all things wedding! You're a true artist, & I wish you all the best in your marriage & in life!!
Sincerely,
:) Candy T.

@Candy T: Wow. THANK YOU. What a beautiful compliment! You can do it. YOU CAN! Pretty soon, I will reveal some of my super secret tricks to save, and hopefully you'll be able to use them to make your (amazing sounding) wedding come true!

It's fantastic! I absolutely believe you can do it. Right across the street? Meant to be, I tell ya! The rest will work itself out. I'd put it out there in my thoughts for you too but ya know, they aren't always so positive right now. But I'm working on it...

i just went to the open house there yesterday! what a pretty little house.

Ah... if only wishing for a house would make it come true! I'm guessing at least a $1.3 mil tag on that one... if it was in the neighborhood I'd want in LA it'd be around $2.7, so my guess will be in the middle.
We wished for a home forever (and make over $250k/year) in LA, and had to up and leave to make it happen.
