That is so fun!!! (can someone make something similar for you, ya think???)
Keep in mind, after it is all over with, people are going to remember the others around them and the party, not nec the decorations. So don't be too upset if you can't get everything you wanted.
i think this seems really do-able and cheaply too. If you can figure out how to make the frame, carnations would be cheap! isnt that what everyone is telling us these days? ;}
i agree with desaray about this being a great DIY project!! what about using a big old chunk of styrofoam to carve the elephant out of, and then using any old cheap flowers to decorate it?!
if you can carve an elephant out of anything - you are amazing and should be doing some sort of amazing carver business. i mean - that is some serious DIY

I saw a white-carnation elephant in a wedding pic, and it has me thinking ... just because there aren't any other elephants in our decor, surely ...?

If I saw a pink floral elephant at an Indian wedding, I wouldn't think twice...
If I saw a pink floral elephant at any other wedding besides an Indian one, I'd pause and wonder, "What were they thinking?!??!"
Maybe you could put a sombrero on its head?
